The aural adventures of ENIMAL supersede multiple genre planes in the electronic realm. Zach Lerman is an ever-evolving, transformative creator, conductor and performer. His recent tape release show of TIMELORD added a multimedia twist with Speaka on visuals. The two faced each other with a massive projection mapping masterpiece between them, swirling and seducing the audience.

The first couple of tracks were bangers from Altered Beast, the first half of the album. Out of the gate, heavy, sticky powerhouse beats smacked you in the face. I had to alternate dancing with staring at the visuals, mesmerized, even catching glimpses of the performers’ faces laced into the psychedelic colors and patterns.

When ENIMAL tapped into the second half of the show with Godmode, the layers of intoxicating soundscapes widened. My ear chased fragmented melodic outbursts only to end with a dissonant, but satisfying counter melody. The possibilities are endless with this wild, highly evolved musical creature and creator, all in one.
